MM&M Pitch Slam: Dare to Healthcare
Task: Prepare a comprehensive presentation for a campaign that includes conceptual/creative ideas and a media/tactical plan aimed at college seniors (the class of 2020) and recent college graduates (no more than three years post-grad). This should be designed to encourage your target audience to pursue careers in medical and health marketing, with a special emphasis on agencies and in-house clients. With your team, pitch your ideas in under 5 minutes to a panel of Medical, Marketing & Media judges for a chance at a cash prize and the title of Pitch Slam 2020 Winners.
Execution: Our 5 person team -all under 30 years old- conducted primary research, wrote a manifesto, created print ads (all below), and coded a website that houses our tactics. The campaign dispels stereotypes about pharma advertising and communicates to young creative professionals that there is a space for them to make more meaningful work. Dare to Healthcare Manifesto:
As a recent grad, you’re terrified. “The world is your oyster,” well-meaning people say. Maybe you have an idea of what you want to do with your career, maybe you don’t. You have all together an endless amount of choices, yet at the same time, it feels like you have none. The heat is turned up to 100. You’ve grinded and put in years of work just to experience rejection after rejection. You might not know how it will all pan out, and some days it feels like it never will. But you do know this: you’re hungry. Hungry and determined to better yourself. Hungry to better the world around you. You are more than equipped to create change, and it’s needed in so many ways. Injustice and corruption pervade our country. You crave authenticity and transparency. To be on the right side of history. A game changer. In a society that seems like the ship is sinking faster than we can plug the leaking holes, where do you fit? What is your part to play? Where are you meant to be?
